Plain Language Glossary
Simple explanations of common terms so you can understand what we are talking about. We keep this glossary so that during Verify and Envision you never feel lost. If we ever say something that sounds like jargon, you can always ask us to explain it in plain language—or check it here.
Automation
Setting up your tools and systems to do repetitive tasks automatically instead of manually. For example, when someone fills out a form on your website, automation can send their details to your email, CRM, and calendar without you copying and pasting anything.
AI Agent
Software that can interact with people through chat or voice, answer questions, and take simple actions. Think of it like a virtual assistant that can help customers on your website or answer phone calls when your team is busy.
CRM (Customer Relationship Management)
A tool that helps you keep track of your customers, leads, and sales. It stores contact details, tracks conversations, and helps you follow up at the right time. Common examples include HubSpot, Salesforce, and Pipedrive.
Landing Page
A focused web page designed for a specific goal, like getting people to sign up for something, download a guide, or book a call. Unlike a full website with many pages and navigation, a landing page keeps visitors focused on one action.
Conversion Rate
The percentage of visitors who take the action you want them to take. For example, if 100 people visit your website and 5 fill out your contact form, your conversion rate is 5%. Higher conversion rates mean your site is doing a better job turning visitors into leads or customers.
Voice Bot
An AI system that can answer phone calls and have basic conversations with callers. It can capture information, answer common questions, and route calls to the right person on your team.
Responsive Design
A website that automatically adjusts its layout to look good and work well on any device, whether someone is visiting on a phone, tablet, or computer.
CMS (Content Management System)
A tool that makes it easy to update your website content without needing a developer. You can add new pages, update text, upload images, and publish blog posts through a simple editor. Examples include Webflow CMS and Shopify.
SEO (Search Engine Optimization)
The practice of making your website easier for search engines like Google to understand and rank. Good SEO helps people find your site when they search for terms related to your business.
API (Application Programming Interface)
A way for different software tools to talk to each other and share data. For example, an API connection lets your website form send lead information directly into your CRM automatically.
Webflow
A visual website builder that gives you a clean editor for creating and updating marketing websites. It is popular with teams who want more design control than traditional templates but do not want to write code.
Shopify
An e-commerce platform designed for online stores. It handles product listings, shopping carts, payments, inventory, and shipping in one system, making it easier to sell products online.
Lead Capture
Collecting contact information from potential customers so you can follow up with them. This usually happens through forms on your website, chat conversations, or phone calls.
MVP (Minimum Viable Product)
A simple version of a product or tool that has just enough features to test an idea and get feedback. It is a way to launch quickly and learn what works before building something more complex.
Workflow
A series of steps that happen in a specific order to complete a task or process. In business automation, workflows connect different actions across your tools. For example: form submitted → send to CRM → notify sales team → schedule follow-up email.
